Bus Stops

151010084641IMG_3510Edinburgh Council has signed a £5 million, 10 year advertising contract with JCDecaux covering many elements of the Edinburgh street scape.  As part of the deal around 400 bus shelters are being replaced – but only the ones with advertising panels.  The roll out of the new bus shelters is due to be complete by the end of October 2015.

There have been many issues with the bus shelters, such as not providing much shelter, seats too high, long bus stops replaced with shorter ones  and many others.

150829112114IMG_3123Living Streets Edinburgh interest in the project is the shelters are taking up much more pavement space than the previous shelters, and some do no meet the councils own design standards.
